Pakistan, Islamabad News : PTI leader and KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak directed party workers to rest for the night at Burhan Interchange and resume their journey to Bani Gala on Tuesday morning.

The KP Chief Minister got out of his vehicle and met party workers who were a part of his caravan and urged them to rest for the night at Burhan Interchange. He told them to rest since the caravan would resume its journey to Bani Gala tomorrow.

Police had tear-gassed PTI workers yet again in an attempt to disperse protesters and discourage them from reaching Islamabad, this time at Burhan Interchange.

According to details, the PTI caravan of workers and party loyalists led by Pervaiz Khattak, had reached Burhan Interchange after removing containers at Hazro. The caravan, which had been on the road for as much as 8 hours, arrived at Burhan Interchange when a heavy contingent of police officers resorted to tear-gassing the protesters.

The protesters on the other hand retaliated by pelting stones at the police officials and also burnt bushes. Some of the party workers who had been part of the caravan from Swabi were tired and needed rest. Meanwhile, all routes leading to Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence were sealed by police officials.

Earlier, police had tear-gassed protesters at Swabi but backed off later. Police had used shelling to disperse the PTI workers, stating that they would not be allowed to proceed to Islamabad. Police had alleged that the protesters were using cranes to remove containers at Swabi.

The clash erupted following the address of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at the Swabi Interchange who was leading the rally towards the federal capital.
